Fearless Tour 2009 – Opening Night had No Dissapointments.

dscn1173The Fearless Tour 2009 started off with opening acts Gloriana and Kellie Pickler.

Pickler started off with her single, which is co-written by Taylor Swift, “Best Days of Your Life”.

She played about a 30 minute set including the hit singles, “Things That Never Cross a Mans Mind,” “Don’t You Know Your Beautiful,” and finally finishing with her original debut single “Red High Heels.”

Swift came on stage about thirty minutes later.  She opened up in a band uniform(1), as with the rest of the band, and performed “You Belong With Me.”

She then immediately transitioned into “Our Song” appearing in a silver dress(2).

“I have wanted to say this for a really really long time,” said Swift. “Welcome to The Fearless Tour 2009”

Swift then played “Tell Me Why.” This would pretty much be the last song of the night and would be followed hereafter by award show style perfomances.

SPOILER ALERT: FEARLESS TOUR PERFORMANCES REVEALED.

“Teardrops On My Guitar” featured someone playing the songs character of “Drew” sitting at a desk with Swift sitting across and singing. The stage (made of huge screens and trap doors) was lit up to imitate a library.

Fearless, which was similar to the end of a normal concert, featured all the band members coming out to the catwalk and singing before running backstage.

Taylor then appeared on the screens being interviewed about boys.  The host was asking who would date her after calling out so many boys in songs.

Swift appeared at the end of the film on stage.  She was wearing a red dress(3) now and performed “Forever and Always” with a very Joe Jonas looking figure sitting opposite her in the same chairs featured in the aforementioned interview.

While the band was no where to be found, a movie came across the screen, Amos Heller, Swift’s bassist, narrated a documentary about the boys Taylor writes about. The short piece included, Drew (aka Tyler Hilton), Stephen Liles, and Tim McGraw.

Swift then appeared in a purple dress(4) to sing “Hey Stephen” in the aisle in the back of the venue.  She then made her way down to a small second stage that rose up in the sound booth area to finish the song.

“My mom doesn’t know what a Facebook is,” said Swift. “It takes her an hour to send a text message.”

She then sang “Best Day” to her mother, Andrea Swift, who was located below her in the sound booth. Andrea cried during the song while the screens played childhood videos of Taylor and Andrea together.

The performance of “Tim McGraw” has never changed. Taylor hasn’t changed her performance of that song from previous tours.

Taylor’s band took a short break while she did an acoustic performance of “White Horse.”

The band started to play “Love Story” and three pairs of dancers came to opposite sides of the stage and catwalk.

Shortly there after the curtain rises to a magnificent castle, and Swift wearing a Victorian style red dress(5). Later in the performance Swift is surrounded by dancers and next thing you know is in a white wedding gown(6).

Swift went back in the castle to reappear in another silver dress(7) to perform “The Way I Loved You.”

She then performed “You’re Not Sorry,” in a black dress(8), with a splash of a cover of “What Goes Around Comes Around” by Justin Timberlake, then back to “You’re Not Sorry.”

Swift finished the show with Change.

The encore started off with “I’m Only Me When I’m With You,” in which Gloriana and Pickler rejoined Swift on stage.

She then performed Picture to Burn which the entire stage looked like it was on fire.

Swift finished the encore with “Should’ve Said No” combining her drum banging performance with her ACM performance in the rain.
